Swedev Guide Back-Up Blade

For optimal performance of your Swedev back-up blades, especially the 45° cut variants, ensure the top of the back-up blade does not extend to the cylinder’s end-point during doctor blade oscillation. It should stop approximately 10 mm short of the cylinder edge. This precaution prevents uneven wear and potential damage. Only the doctor blade should traverse the full cylinder width, ensuring precise doctoring and extending blade life. Following this best practice improves print quality, reduces maintenance, and enhances overall press performance.

  • The top of the 45 back-up blade cut must not reach the end-point of the cylinder when the doctor blade oscillates
  • It should stop approximately 10 mm from the cylinder end. Only the doctor blade should pass over this area
